How does the application and Matriculation process work?

The Bachelor's program in Mathematics at the University of Freiburg has no admission restrictions, there is a neither numerus clausus nor an entrance examination. A place on the course is therefore guaranteed, provided that the formal requirements are met (general university entrance qualification or equivalent or alternative university entrance qualification; sufficient proof of German language skills for foreign students).

For subjects with open admission such as mathematics, Matriculation is generally possible up to the penultimate week before the start of lectures; prior application is not required. In the two-major bachelor's degree program, there may be restrictions for the other subject or an entrance examination: Then a timely application is necessary. Please clarify questions regarding application and Matriculation with the Registration Office.
