At the University of Freiburg, you can start your studies in mathematics with a Bachelor's or teacher training course. In addition, we have Master's programs and a PhD program. We offer numerous workshops for pupils. Additional offers, which you can also attend without being enrolled at the university, are available for mathematics teachers, for example. Bachelor

The classic way to start studying mathematics after leaving school. Starting with lectures in analysis and linear algebra, you have the opportunity to specialize and choose an application subject as your studies progress.

Master

The Master's degree programs MSc Mathematics and MSc Mathematics in Data and Technology follow on from our Bachelor's program. The MSc Mathematics introduces students to current research in mathematics. The English-language MSc Mathematics in Data and Technology focuses on the mathematical foundations of artificial intelligence and further mathematical applications.

Teacher training

The study program for the High school teaching profession begins with the Two-Major Subject Bachelor with Teaching Option. In addition to mathematics and the second subject, this already includes educational science and didactics content. In the subsequent Master of Education, this knowledge is deepened and applied in the practical semester. If you want to study mathematics as a third subject, we offer an extension master's degree.
