Swiss Re - Mathematics meets reinsurance
What can you do with a maths degree? Quite a lot – especially in reinsurance, which offers mathematicians an exciting, international working environment with a wide range of development opportunities. In a world that is constantly changing due to climate change, geopolitical uncertainties and technological upheavals, analytical thinking, modelling skills and an understanding of risk are more in demand than ever. The talk will provide insights into the role of reinsurance, show concrete fields of application for mathematical methods and shed light on how Swiss Re deals with the complex challenges of our time - from natural catastrophes and cyber risks to social megatrends. All interested students are cordially invited to attend Julia Flach's talk on Tuesday 22 July at 14:15 in SR 226.

End of examination registration period in Mathematics
The deadline for registering for examinations in mathematics is Monday, 14 July 2025! Please remember that there is a separate registration of the "Studienleistung" for the exercises and that it is not sufficient to register for the exercise group ("Belegung").

In der Auseinandersetzung mit historischen Problemen der Mathematik können Schülerinnen und Schüler die Wirkungskraft mathematischer Argumentationen erfahren: Welche Argumente haben Mathematikerinnen und Mathematiker früherer Zeit genutzt, denen unsere technischen Hilfsmittel nicht zur Verfügung standen?
