4.14 Professional Skills for Computer and Natural Sciences

By the end of the seminar students will know basic methods and concepts of professional skills like working in teams, communication, presentation, project management and intercultural communication. They will have learned important theoretical concepts and could work out their own skills in practical trainings.

When working in the field of computer science or natural sciences one spends a considerable amount of time organizing, communicating and managing. Technological expertise only is not sufficient nowadays. In this course we deal with different aspects of interaction, communication and organization. We will analyse and train effective communication and argumentation skills, confident presentation of facts, aspects of good team work and structured project planning. We will also take into account the increase of intercultural co-operation in work life. Theoretical approaches will alternate with practical training, where students can practise their personal skills.
